The Greater Des Moines Partnership will host a Multicultural Reception on Thursday, Oct. 13, at Sammons Financial Group in West Des Moines. The reception is designed to provide opportunities for people to develop new relationships with others who are passionate about building an inclusive community. The reception will include a roundtable discussion from 4-5 p.m. where attendees can discuss a variety of diversity, equity and inclusion topics important to their organization and the community. “We invite leaders and people of all backgrounds to join us to celebrate DEI and learn more about how our community can collectively move forward on DEI initiatives,” said Marvin DeJear, senior vice president of talent and development at the Partnership. Anne Cooper, senior vice president and chief human resources office at Sammons, which is sponsoring the event, said Sammons’ goal is to “protect the future of families and businesses, and ensuring an inclusive and welcoming community advances that intention.”
