Multifamily sales volume held steady in 1st quarter, while value dropped from 2018

118 wordsAll Latest News, Real Estate and DevelopmentThe first quarter of multifamily sales in a 35-mile reach of Des Moines looked much the same as the final quarter of 2018, with the big exception of values, according to a report from Jared Husmann of KW Commercial. In terms of transactions, the first quarter wrapped up much the same way as the fourth quarter of 2018, with the big exception being the total value of 13 unique transactions, according to Husmann’s report. The value of those sales, accounting for 244 apartment units, was $11.78 million, for an average price per unit of $52,625, or $59.97 per square foot. A similar number of sales in the fourth quarter of 2018 totaled $30.95 million, according to the report.
