Des Moines Performing Arts has announced the return of two of its popular series, National Geographic Live and the Wellmark Series. According to a news release, both productions will hit the stage in February 2022. National Geographic Live features lecturers from National Geographic photographers, scientists and filmmakers, who will give audiences the opportunity to learn firsthand from the stories they tell of their careers. The Wellmark Family Series features special one-hour performances designed to take young minds on adventures through live performance. These performances are designed to educate and engage a wide range of audience ages, and each includes a discovery party before the performance with activities that complement the engagement. This season two special performances are being offered, including a Spanish language performance of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Classics” and a sensory-friendly performance of “DoodlePOP.” Season tickets are now on sale. Single-performance tickets will go on sale at a later date.
