National Science Foundation awards $191,456 to two UI computer science researchers

The National Science Foundation has awarded two early-career grants worth $99,825 and $91,631 to University of Iowa computer science researchers Chipara Octav and Zubair Shafiq, the university announced. The NSF Faculty Early Career Development program focuses on promising junior faculty in engineering and computer science fields. Octav, an assistant professor, will use the grant to investigate software adaption for wearable Internet-of-Things devices, and Shafiq, also an assistant professor, will investigate implicit and explicit cooperation between network operators and content providers.
