The Greater Des Moines Partnership and the Business Record have named Nationwide as the 2019 Inclusion Award winner. The company will be recognized and will present its best practices on diversity and inclusion in the workplace at the Partnership’s seventh annual Inclusion Forum on Nov. 15.  

The award honors employers that have championed diversity and inclusion at their organization and within the community. The nominees are evaluated by a selection committee made up of members of the Partnership’s Inclusion Council and past honorees. The winner must be a member or investor of the Partnership. 

Nationwide is one of the largest diversified insurance and financial services organizations in the United States. Based in Columbus, Ohio, the company employs thousands of associates at its Locust Street campus in Des Moines. 

The company has a long-standing commitment to diversity and inclusion. One way this happens is through the company’s 15 Associate Resource Groups. These groups help associates find ways to connect with one another and be part of a group that matters to them. ARGs develop leadership skills, foster volunteerism at community events and recommend or implement creative ideas to enhance business performance.
