NEH awards $372,000 to Iowa humanities projects
The National Endowment for the Humanities on Tuesday announced $18.6 million in grants for 199 humanities projects across the country, including four projects in Iowa that received grants totaling $372,276. The Iowa projects include digitization of more than 2,000 broadcast tapes from KWWL-TV, a flagship public news station in eastern Iowa, as part of the Archives of Iowa Broadcasting. Another project being supported is the Iowa Labor History Oral Project; an NEH grant will be used to transcribe 363 oral history interviews and complete a comprehensive digital index.
