Neighborhood Finance Corp. honors 2 leaders

Kathy Kahoun

Neighborhood Finance Corp., the nonprofit mortgage lender that works to improve housing stock in Polk County, has named Kathy Kahoun and Quentin Boyken for its Neighborhood Revitalization award.

 

Kahoun is a retired neighborhood development administrator for the city of Des Moines. She is active with HOME Inc. and the Metro Des Moines League of Women Voters. She also holds a leadership position with Des Moines Habitat for Humanity.

 

Quentin Boyken

Boyken is a shareholder with Belin McCormick P.C. He assisted with the formation of Neighborhood Finance Corp. and is recognized as one of the keys to its long-term success, according to a release.

 

Boyken has worked on every 28E agreement with NFC’s community partners and helped to draft the documents that allowed NFC to become a Certified Community Development Financial Institution. He put in place the structured capital that has enabled NFC to originate more than $290 million in loans to more than 5,000 homeowners over 25 years that the organization has existed.
