CDS Global, in conjunction with Des Moines-based social media consultancy Lava Row, is hosting a free networking mixer and screening of “Page One: Inside the New York Times” on Feb. 23 at Fleur Cinema & Café. Premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, the documentary provides a glimpse into the Times’ new media fight for survival during the print crisis and how it successfully adapted to the digital age. Co-hosting the screening with Lava Row provides an opportunity to bring together Greater Des Moines’ local media and technology professionals, said Kristin Runyan, chief information officer of CDS Global. Networking will begin at 6 p.m., followed by remarks by Runyan and Lava Row founder Nathan Wright and the film at 7 p.m. Tickets must be obtained in advance at pageonedm.eventbrite.com.
