Costco, a members-only big box retail store that offers steep discounts on a wide range of items, is scheduled to open its new store in Ankeny on Nov. 17, according to the national retailer’s website. Construction of the 195,000-square-foot facility began last April. The development, located at 4000 N.E. Spectrum Drive, includes a warehouse retail store, tire center, distribution center and free-standing fuel facility. The store will employ about 300 people, according to a company spokesperson. Hourly pay starts at a minimum of $17.50, according to the spokesperson. Costco, headquartered in Issaquah, Wash., has more than 550 warehouses in the U.S. including one in West Des Moines, according to its annual report.
