Des Moines Register: In celebration of Gordmans expanding the number of its stores and staving off an expected closure, the company is holding a grand opening celebration at 9 a.m. Thursday at stores in the metro area: two in Des Moines, at 1200 S.E. Army Post Road and at 2590 Hubbell Ave., and one in West Des Moines, at 1400 22nd St. Gordmans filed for bankruptcy in 2017 and said it would close more than 100 stores, including its Iowa locations. Stage Stores Inc. was the winning bidder in the bankruptcy sale and announced that it would reopen and operate 50 of the Gordmans stores.
