Des Moines Register: The new chief executive officer of Iowa’s Planned Parenthood affiliate will not have an easy job — she’s taking the helm during the most tumultuous time for abortion access in decades. Ruth Richardson, 45, will join Planned Parenthood North Central States in October. Richardson’s home state of Minnesota is the only one in Planned Parenthood North Central’s five-state region that has indicated it would not move to restrict abortion access. Richardson, a lawyer by trade and current member of the Minnesota House, will start on Oct. 6.
