New security cameras, officers for Court Avenue

The plan has a three-tiered approach adding additional lighting, new security cameras and additional law enforcement presence. The plan has an estimated annual budget of $220,000 for three years. The cost will be split between Polk County, the city of Des Moines, downtown businesses, downtown hotels and housing and Operation Downtown.
