Rock Communications Ltd. of Newton, Iowa, announced today that it has acquired Des Moines-based Colorfx Inc.

The combined companies will have approximately 400 employees in five facilities in Central and Northeastern Iowa. Combined annual sales of the two companies are approximately $75 million. The companies will retain their names.

The combined company will be led by Jon Troen, president of Rock Communications. John DeVries, current president and CEO of Colorfx, is leaving the business.

Rock and Colorfx will offer an array of complementary marketing services including commercial web, sheetfed, and digital printing as well as direct mail, photography, design and interactive web services.

Colorfx has three locations including two facilities in Des Moines and a facility in Waverly, Iowa.
