The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines is urging nonprofit organizations to report as soon as possible recent storm and flooding damage they may have sustained. “If your nonprofit organization was affected by the recent storm, we strongly encourage you to report any damage, no matter how seemingly minor, by completing a brief online damage assessment or by calling 2-1-1, United Way’s assistance referral system, as soon as possible,” the foundation said in an email. “Timely reporting is critically important as federal resources do not become available unless a certain threshold of damages is met in our community.” The online state damage reporting form can be found here.
