NOTABLE TRANSACTIONS: Omaha group buys 4 Shine Shop Car Wash properties

City Ventures, an Omaha-based investment group, has purchased four area car washes, real estate transactions in Polk and Dallas counties show.  

The investment group purchased the properties from Splash Express LLC, a Des Moines company whose president is Jason DeStigter, records show.

The properties that were sold were all occupied by Shine Shop Car Wash. The purchases include:

  • 1400 S.E. University Ave. in Waukee. The 1.1-acre parcel in 2022 was valued at $1.2 million. The purchase price was just over $4 million.
  • 6035 Merle Hay Road in Johnston. The 1.7-acre parcel includes a 4,415-square-foot car wash that opened in 2022. The property in 2021 was valued at $617,000. The purchase price was $4.17 million.
  • 301 N.E. Cypress Drive in Grimes (pictured above). The 1.1-acre parcel includes a recently opened 4,505-square-foot car wash. Before construction began in March 2022, the property was valued at $1,500. The purchase price was $4.11 million.
  • 3301 N. Ankeny Blvd. in Ankeny. The 1.6-acre parcel includes a 4,633-square-foot drive-thru car wash built in 2019. The property is valued at $1.29 million. The purchase price was $4.29 million.

The four transactions were recorded Feb. 16.

In other Polk County transactions:

Fortress Bank, located in West Des Moines, paid 11140 Hickman LLC $1.8 million for property at 11140 Hickman Road in Clive, records show. The property includes an auto showroom occupied by Car City West. The property is valued at $914,900. The transaction was recorded Feb. 13.

Schuessler Enterprises Inc., located in Huxley, paid Elkhart Properties LC $1.3 million for property located at 1410 W. Walnut St. in Elkhart, records show. The transaction was recorded Feb. 13.

Via Real Estate LLC, located in Lubbock, Texas, paid Eastgate Plaza LLC $1 million for property located in the 1500 block of East Euclid Avenue. A B Bop’s fast-food restaurant previously had been located on the site. The transaction was recorded Feb. 16.

Dallas County
Brent and Teresa Voss paid $1.32 million for more than 230 acres of vacant ground northwest of Earlham, records show. The property’s previous owners were Christensen Holdings LLC, T&S Holdings LLC and S A Dill LLC. The transaction was recorded Feb. 13.
