Robots: just like us!

Just days after a co-worker emailed me the tale of Flippy the burger-flipping robot, employers at Caliburger are already giving the sleek robot arm four days off for retooling and upgrades — which kind of sounds like a retreat to the spa if your whole purpose in life was grilling up to 2,000 patties a day.

Flippy will return to work at the Pasadena, Calif., burger joint next week on a limited basis, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and up to 50 Flippy clones are expected to be installed at Caliburger restaurants in Seattle, Washington, D.C., and Annapolis, Md.,in the next few months.
