152 wordsBusiness Record Insider, The Insider NotebookConventions guru Greg Edwards had some interesting things to say when he stopped by for our latest Newsroom 515 session, this one a panel discussion on the future of Greater Des Moines tourism. Some couldn’t be printed, but these can:
Edwards on the promise of skateboarding-related tourism at a downtown park now under construction: “I wear Vans shoes on the weekends now. I’m a hip guy.” Under questioning, he added that he doesn’t plan to actually skateboard; “I’m going to walk around and look like a skateboarder. Like a boarder, excuse me, that’s what they call it.” To which fellow panelist Tiffany Tauscheck of the Greater Des Moines Partnership quipped: “Greg, it’s not hip if you say it’s hip. Just so you know that.”
On geofencing during the NCAA March Madness games in Des Moines, Edwards joked: “They’ve been creeping on me with that for two years. I’m getting sick of it.”
