NOTEBOOK: Gray isn’t the new black for breakfast crowd

Arriving a little late to the Business Record’s June 1 “Silver Tsunami” Power Breakfast, I took a seat in the back and tried to assess the age of the crowd. I wondered if those interested in the topic would be baby boomers or younger executives trying to figure out how to deal with the boomer generation’s exodus from the workplace. Surprisingly, there weren’t a lot of grayhairs in the room. I was about to make an assumption until I realized that not everyone chooses to fly their gray flag proudly. I’m probably dating myself by confessing that this ad slogan for Clairol came to mind: “Only her hairdresser knows for sure.”
