We continue to read about the nation’s labor shortage and the phenomenon that is being called the Great Resignation. This story from the Wall Street Journal shows the exodus from the workforce hasn’t let up and sheds a little more light on who, exactly, is leaving their jobs. The story is based on Bureau of Labor Statistic data that was recently released, which shows workers resigned from a record 4.4 million jobs in September, the latest month that data was available. The report also shows that low-wage workers, people of color and women are those most likely to leave their jobs. The report also indicates that the turnover isn’t equally spread across the workforce.
