As each year comes to a close, it’s a time of reflection — and 2020 is no different. In fact, this year it may be even more important to take a moment to reflect on the past 12 months because of the challenges and disruptions we’ve all experienced because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has forced significant changes in our lives, from how we spend time with family to how we work, shop and play. The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines has released a video that shares how we’ve learned new ways to be together and adapted to the challenges we’ve faced. With a theme of “We Rise Together,” the video shows how the nonprofit community has come together in 2020 to meet the needs of those who have been most affected by the pandemic and how, as a community, we have risen together to meet that challenge.
