NOTEBOOK – ONE GOOD READ: Choose your own adventure between these two interesting stories this morning

I’m going to recommend two good reads this morning. Here’s the heads-up: The first one is not great. It’s called “We’re not doing enough to protect COVID-19 vaccine research from cyber espionage,” reported by Fast Company. This is clearly important: There is a strong desire in all of us to see a vaccine completed and available to everyone, and we don’t need an international cyberwar to break out between hacking groups and research scientists. But I am also aware that we, as Iowans, are all tired, and I’m sure a lot of us don’t want to add worrying about cyber/vaccination warfare to the top of our anxiety list at this moment. I’m going to add a second link to an Ars Technica story — it’s innovative, it’s clever, it potentially protects a segment of farmers from business losses, and I think the top photo is pretty funny. I don’t want to ruin anything, but if you need even a three-second break in your work day, click on the second link.
