Work-life balance” is a term that’s increasingly thrown around the workplace, and for good reason. This Fast Company article discusses how having hobbies provides happiness and increases productivity, thus hopefully decreasing worker burnout. According to the article, even mindless tasks like doodling can improve your memory. The article provides three main takeaways: find something that makes you happy, try something new, and find something you can do all the time. While I can get behind doodling and other suggestions, I’ll stick to throwing the duck dummy around for my dog, Walter, something that brings us both happiness and enjoyment.
