According to the Times, there’s a generation of 20-somethings who may beg to differ with my coolness. Employers are finding that their Gen Z employees are playing by their own rules, whether it be setting their own hours, assigning work to higher-ups, or their liberal use of days off. The Times is reporting that while 20-somethings have long scoffed at the habits of us “older” folks, they are exhibiting a new boldness in the workplace. “These younger generations are cracking the code and they’re like, ‘Hey guys turns out we don’t have to do it like these old people tell us we have to do it,’” Colin Guinn, 41, co-founder of the robotics company Hangar Technology, said in the Times piece. “‘We can actually do whatever we want and be just as successful.’ And we old people are like, ‘What is going on?’”
