191 wordsAll Latest News, Business Record Insider, The Insider NotebookAs we continue to work remotely, face canceled activities or watch as events continue to transition to virtual formats, we may wonder how else has the pandemic changed our lives. Some of the ways may go unnoticed for the most part as they used to be considered the routine. The mundane. For me, I realized this recently as I filled up my car for the first time in who knows how long. I work from home. We seldom go out or venture too far unless it is to run errands, such as buying groceries, and then we take my wife’s vehicle, which is bigger and able to handle more bags of groceries or larger items we may have purchased. My car sits in our garage, gathering dust, except for the rare jaunt when it makes sense to take it. So, when I saw this article from NPR, it really hit home, as I imagine it will with many people. It explores how we, as a country, are spending less on gas and more on groceries, and how, as the headline states, the pandemic is shaking up our cost of living.
