The team said it looked at candidates outside of sports because it was foolish to look within a century-old industry with “backward hiring practices.” While we don’t have an NFL team in Des Moines, the concept applies to many local businesses. If companies are looking to diversify (which a variety of studies show increases profits), they must also diversify their hiring practices. Read more in the Wall Street Journal.
