NOTEBOOK – ONE GOOD READ: When are you returning to the office?

As we begin acclimating ourselves to a world that is opening back up and living with fewer restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic spread, one question seems to pop up in nearly every conversation I have: When will you return to the office? It seems as if it’s the question de jour in the business world as company leaders and employees continue planning their return to work strategies. Here at the Business Record, our leadership team has been working on a plan that would see us return to the office in September (with varying levels of what “return” means for various employees). But as companies across the region measure their return to work plans, it might be interesting to see what some of their peers are doing. In this article from Business Insider, we see how one Australian company has brought back its workforce in a country that is almost completely back to its pre-pandemic office occupancy. Brett White, executive chairman and CEO of Cushman & Wakefield, one of the world’s largest real estate service firms, has had a front-row seat to the return, observing some major changes to office culture and design that may be repeated around the world.
