About: Join the West Des Moines Chamber as it hears from Jodi Essex, government contracting specialist with ISU’s Center for Industrial Research and Service (CIRAS). Essex will give a brief overview of the various opportunities that are available to businesses through government contracting. She’ll discuss the various agencies that could be potential customers, the most common ways to find opportunities with those agencies, how those agencies typically buy goods and services, how selling to the government differs from selling to consumers or other businesses, and key characteristics of successful government contractors.
