About: Crying Out Loud is an evening of education, music and art that will shed light on the racial disparity that still exists in birth outcomes. The program includes information on the importance of kick counting, spoken word and a performance from Sharane Calister, Des Moines native and former contestant on “The Voice.” Maternal health-related pieces created by artists at Mainframe Studios and across the United States will also be on display. The online auction for these pieces is open now through the end of October, Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. Proceeds benefit Healthy Birth Day Inc. and its public awareness campaign, Count the Kicks. The event is free and open to the public.
