Ventech Solutions, a system integration and consulting services firm that focuses on the public sector, is seeking economic assistance from the state of Iowa and the city of Urbandale that will boost Greater Des Moines employment levels by 200 people. The Columbus, Ohio-based company plans to lease space at an office park at 12000 Ridgemont Drive, said Urbandale Economic Development Director Curtis Brown. Ventech is asking for $500,0000 in state High Quality Jobs Program tax incentives and $100,000 from Urbandale, Brown said. The company recently was awarded a 10-year, $410 million contract to manage data for a health care quality initiative for the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. Company officials told Columbus Business First magazine that it would add offices and hire 200 people as a result. The Urbandale City Council will consider Ventech’s request during its meeting Tuesday. The Urbandale incentive would come from the city’s revolving loan fund, Brown said.
