Outage frustrates last-minute Obamacare enrollment

An outage on Saturday of an Internal Revenue Service function for Obamacare enrollment could have prevented about 500,000 people from meeting the Feb. 15 deadline, but nearly all should have the chance to sign up thanks to widespread deadline extensions and now-smoothly running sites, USA Today reported. The glitch prevented some people from getting their income verified so they could enroll on HealthCare.gov and at least some state exchanges by the Sunday deadline. The end to this year’s ObamaCare signup season is expected to add more than 11 million people to its rolls, putting the administration ahead of its own expectations, The Hill reported early Saturday.
