Sharpen those skates! This is the final week for the outdoor skating season at Brenton Skating Plaza in downtown Des Moines. Weather permitting, the venue will be open for skating through Sunday. Brenton Skating Plaza hosts public skate hours 5-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. During Family Skate Night on Thursday, four family members can skate for $20, including admission and skate rental. The Canopy at Brenton Skating Plaza will be installed in coming months and will be available to rent in May through Mid-October. For more information, visit the Brenton Skating Plaza website.
