Palmer: Steady raises coming in Central Iowa
The Palmer Group’s annual survey of 280 mostly Central Iowa business representatives found that rank-and-file workers can expect raises in 2018 in the same range as this year.
Of survey respondents, 59 percent expected to give raises of 3 percent to 4 percent in 2018, up from 57.3 percent this year. At the same time, 7 percent of respondents planned to give raises of 5 percent or higher on average, down from 10.3 percent of respondents this year.
Another 28 percent plan raises of 1 percent to 2 percent, up from 26.4 percent. The rest didn’t plan to give raises.
