Panel to discuss clean energy

Community leaders will discuss the health and economic benefits of renewable energy and energy efficiency for low-income and senior citizens in Iowa at a panel discussion at 11:30 a.m. on May 19 at the Des Moines East Side Library. The discussion will include information on a new report by the nonprofit Natural Resources Defense Council about the benefits of clean energy initiatives. Panelists will be Eric Burmeister, executive director of the Polk County Housing Trust Fund; Kirk Kraft, project development and landowner relations representative for RPM Access LLC; Kate McCormick, Midwest advocate for the Natural Resources Defense Council; and Maureen McCue, adjunct professor of global health studies at the University of Iowa.
