Pappajohn business competition winners announced
The three winners of the 2012 John Pappajohn Iowa Business Plan Competition were announced today at an awards luncheon at Drake University.
The winners were:
Iowa Powder Automization Technologies (IPAT), which received first place and a $25,000 prize. IPAT, located in Nevada, Iowa, is a development-stage company with an automated process for manufacturing fine titanium and other metal powders.
Data2Bio came in second, winning the $15,000 prize. The Ames-based company combines understanding of molecular biology, research methodology and bioinformatic analysis software to help researches analyze sequence data such as DNA and RNA.
FxRedux Solutions LLC received third place and $10,000. The Iowa City-based company uses proprietary technology to automate the virtual alignment of bone fragments.
