The American Institute of Architects Iowa Chapter tallied 125,000 votes in its third People’s Choice Award competition among projects designed by Iowa architects. Finishing first, second and third were the Southeastern Community College Health Professions Center by DLR Group, Prairie Ridge Integrated Behavioral Healthcare by Accord Architecture, and the Storm Lake High School addition and renovation by DLR Group. Twenty-eight projects were submitted for consideration, including many schools and public buildings. Voter participation was high. Last year the competition collected 41,000 votes.
