Des Moines Register: The percentage of 2021 Iowa public high school graduates who indicated they intended to pursue a “postsecondary education” — 72.6% — was the lowest figure since 1997, according to annual state reports. And that’s just the number who said they intended to attend college. The percentage who followed through is actually lower. Of Iowa’s 2020 public high school graduates, 60.5% enrolled in a degree program within a year of graduation. For the 2012 class, the figure was 69%, according to state data.
