Personal income up 1.2 percent in Iowa

State personal income growth accelerated to 1.0 percent on average in the second quarter of 2016 from 0.3 percent in the first quarter, according to estimates released today by the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis. Personal income grew in every state in the second quarter, with growth rates ranging from 0.4 percent in Alaska to 1.4 percent in Utah. Iowa ranked ninth-best in personal income growth among the states, with a 1.2 percent increase from the first quarter of 2016. Personal income for Iowa in the second quarter totaled $144.5 billion.
