First American Bank announced that Executive Vice President Dean Peyton will retire effective at the end of the year. Peyton has had a 38-year banking career in the Des Moines area. The last nine of those years, he was associated with First American Bank, and he will continue to serve on the bank’s Des Moines Metro Advisory board of directors.

A member of the Des Moines Senior Management Group and the Des Moines Loan Committee, Peyton was responsible for managing a team of commercial lenders as well as a personal portfolio of commercial loans. He is a graduate of the Commercial Banking School and the Graduate School of Banking and holds a degree in business administration from Iowa State University.

Peyton has served on the boards of the Youth Emergency Services and Shelter, the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, the Animal Rescue League Foundation, Polk County Health Services, Metro Arts Alliance and the Des Moines Arts Festival.
