Mercy Medical Center’s skywalk Quick Care Clinic will add a Mercy physical therapy satellite location within its clinic space beginning Aug. 7. The physical therapy location will be open Tuesday and Fridays from 7 to 10 a.m. with expanded hours in September.

Mike La Velle, who supervises Mercy’s Des Moines-area physical therapy clinics, said the goal was to provide convenient care for downtown workers and residents who would otherwise have to take time off from work for a longer commute to care. The Mercy skywalk physical therapy office will file insurance for most major health insurance carriers including Medicare and Worker’s Compensation.

“I know employers will appreciate the time savings too,” La Velle said.
