Pi515 receives $200K Black Women Impact grant from Goldman Sachs initiative

Pi515 announced Wednesday it has been awarded a multiyear $200,000 Black Women Impact grant from Goldman Sachs’ One Million Black Women initiative. The money is available for any use and will be distributed over two years starting in July, according to a news release. “This multi-year investment will help us scale our efforts in preparing young people for the future of work. The pandemic exposed disparities such as the digital divide and the ever-growing digitized economy,” Pi515 Founder and Executive Director Nancy Mwirotsi said in the release. “It also demonstrated the importance of encouraging historically disadvantaged youths, particularly Black girls, to explore meaningful career opportunities in STEM. By doing so, our youth can invent fulfilling opportunities and alter the trajectories of their lives in astonishing ways. Working with Goldman Sachs allows us to not only scale our program, but utilize the resources and networks provided to support our organization and its growth.” Continue reading on innovationIOWA.com.
