Piklapp named president of Fareway Stores

138 wordsAll Latest News, Key Leadership Changes, Retail and BusinessGarrett Piklapp, who has been with Fareway Stores Inc. for 13 years, has been tapped as the Boone-based grocer’s president. Piklapp, who obtained a bachelor’s degree from Simpson College and a law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, previously was Fareway’s executive vice president, secretary and general counsel. Frederick Greiner was president of the company, which has 129 stores in six states. Greiner retired in 2018. At the time, Fareway CEO Reynolds Cramer assumed the president’s role. Also, Michael McCormick has been named Fareway’s chief retail officer, and Jacob Moran chief financial officer. McCormick previously was executive vice president of merchandising. Moran succeeds Craig Shepley, who is retiring in October after working for Fareway for 36 years. Piklapp and McCormick have assumed their new roles; Moran will start in his new position on Oct. 31.
