‘Plains Angels’ forms to help provide early stage funding to start-ups
The Business Innovation Zone has announced the formation of a group called Plains Angels, an independent collection of individual angel investors.
Members will provide early-stage funding to start-up businesses in amounts that are generally lower than what venture capitalists provide.
Members will not invest as a unit, but the group serves as a forum for members to collaborate to make individual decisions on where to invest, said Mike Colwell, director of the Business Innovation Zone.
To join Plains Angels, investors must qualify as accredited investors under Securities and Exchange Commission guidelines. For more information, go to www.plainsangels.com.
