The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines honored the Des Moines Community Playhouse with its 2012 Better Together Award during its annual luncheon today at the Des Moines Marriott Downtown.

The Playhouse received a $2,500 grant to advance its work. Businessman G. David Hurd was the reciepient of the foundation’s indidividal award and received a $1,000 grant to be distributed to the organization of his choice.

Additional finalists for the Better Together Award were the Gateway Dance Theater, Meals from the Heartland and the World Food Prize.
