Pleasant Hill council approves incentive for redevelopment of former water park

The Pleasant Hill City Council approved a $2.25 million forgivable loan Tuesday for the redevelopment of a long-closed water park on East University Avenue into a mix of apartments, restaurants, retail and office spaces. Christensen Development could close on the acquisition of the property Friday, with plans to begin demolition of White Water University as soon as possible. The city development loan will be released as Christensen Development meets certain milestones. “This is an opportunity to move forward with a developer known for their high-class projects for the highest and best use for this site and listen to what the residents of Pleasant Hill want,” Pleasant Hill Mayor Sara Kurovski said in a release. “This is just the beginning.” Read more at BusinessRecord.com.
