140 wordsAll Latest News, Government Policy and LawWith 21,000 taxpayers expected through the doors of the Polk County Administrative Building this month, Polk County Treasurer Mary Malone suggests paying your property taxes online. Full or partial payments can be made with an electronic check, debit card, credit card or by Dwolla. Wednesday, Sept. 30, is the deadline for payment for the first installment of the 2014-2015 property tax without incurring late interest. A satellite station will also be available on Sept. 30 at Polk County River Place, Room 5, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Payments at the satellite station are limited to property taxes; accepted forms of payment are check, credit card, debit card and electronic check. Service fees apply to credit card, debit card and electronic check payments. Payments may be mailed but must have a Sept. 30 postmark to be processed without late interest.
