Des Moines Register: Four Polk County supervisors have decided not to appoint the fifth, Matt McCoy, to any boards or commissions in 2022 in an ongoing battle over alleged dirty politics and lack of transparency in Polk County government. McCoy said he learned of the decision on Friday, when the county posted a meeting agenda including this year’s board and commission assignments — and he was given none. He formally objected to the move during Tuesday’s supervisors’ meeting, saying the move by his fellow supervisors was retaliatory, an abuse of power and threatened his ability to represent constituents. Chairwoman Angela Connolly and Supervisor Tom Hockensmith contended McCoy has not been communicative or collaborative enough.
