Prairie Meadows announces $2M in local funding for Central Iowans
Prairie Meadows announced $2 million in funding for three Central Iowa nonprofits addressing basic needs and recovery for Iowans struggling during the pandemic. Recipients are United Way of Central Iowa ($1 million), Food Bank of Iowa ($500,000) and Des Moines Area Religious Council ($500,000). The contributions are in lieu of the traditional grant program offered by Prairie Meadows, which was halted early this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prairie Meadows’ grant program is set to resume accepting applications in early 2021.
