Prairie Meadows gives city $4 million
Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino presented the city of Des Moines with a $4 million check at Monday’s City Council meeting.
The money will be used to fund street and bridge repairs, Des Moines City Manager Rick Clark said in a press release.
Prairie Meadows has given the city $24.8 million since 2004, and boasts of having given more than $1 billion through taxes, grants and charitable donations to the state of Iowa.
