Principal Financial Group Inc. said it will pay a third-quarter dividend of 21 cents per share of common stock on Sept. 28. The dividend is 17 percent more than the company’s second-quarter dividend. Larry D. Zimpleman, chairman, president and CEO, said the dividend demonstrates the company’s move to a more fee-based business model . “We are focused on increasing our dividend payout-ratio year over year, which demonstrates our commitment to increasing long-term value for our shareholders,” he said.
