Principal Foundation awards $125,000 grant to Des Moines Symphony
The Des Moines Symphony has been awarded a $125,000 grant from the Principal Foundation to support the symphony’s Sound of the City campaign. According to a news release, the campaign allows the symphony and its academy to provide more live musical experiences and educational opportunities for the region’s growing and diverse community. “We are immensely grateful for this extraordinary gift from the Principal Foundation to our Sound of the City campaign,” said Richard Early, executive director of the Symphony Association. The grant was part of the Principal Foundation’s Community Grant Program, which is focused on collaborating with organizations in communities where their employees live. “We look forward to seeing how our gift helps guide the Des Moines Symphony and Academy into the future,” said Jo Christine Miles, the foundation’s director.
